Brick-by-Brick: A Salem Scavenger Hunt

Hello and welcome to the Salem Scavenger Hunt!

This is the page that contains all of the information that you will need to get started on your journey.

If you have questions that are not answered, you may reach out to the library at anytime!

• What is it?

  • The Salem Scavenger hunt is a semester-long event where you will be given a different small task to complete, or something else of that nature each week. After you have accomplished your mission, return to the library to claim your prize!

• How does the scavenger hunt work?

  • At the beginning of the week, for ten weeks (refer to the dates on the tabs on the left), a clue to the relevant scavenger hunt item, or goal will be posted on the Salem Library's News page as well on this LibGuide under the relevant week.
  • After you follow the clues or reach the goal, you will need to scan the QR code (or follow the link) left at the location or webpage.
  • The QR code / link will take you to a google form that you will complete and use to submit your evidence (a picture of the goal for that week or a questionnaire to be filled out or something else that is specified in that week's rules)
  • Once that has been submitted, you can return to the library circulation desk and you will be rewarded with a prize!

• What are the prizes?

  • The prizes come in a little satchel and build on one another, so if you have collected the prize each week, you'll have a great souvenir of the semester by the end of the event!
  • Everyone who completes all 10 weeks will be in placed in a drawing for a Visa gift card!

• When are new weeks posted?

  • Make sure to check this LibGuide on Mondays for a new week!

• I missed a week/started late--Will I be able to complete the event?

  • Yes! Don't worry if you miss a week (or weeks); you'll be able to complete all of the clues after their initial debut.
  • For example: say that you missed the first two weeks because you didn't hear about the event, but you really want to participate. Just follow the directions on the weeks you missed and you'll be able to complete the goal for that week and receive your prize(s).
