Monty thinks this story is wonderfully dark with some interesting twists. Following an eleven-year-old boy, you’re hooked the moment he is faced with some extra challenging situations. He must escape from his shackles in some decrepit house after he was kidnapped by a woman on the street. The suspense and tension are tangible in this story because of the author's writing style, and if you enjoy toe-curling scenes, then this story will certainly keep you entertained.

Kenny thinks you'll like this book if you're enchanted by the creepy and up for a reading challenge that will have you rotating the book and flipping forwards and backwards for more answers. Mark Z. Danielewski makes word art in the pages of this full-color novel, adding to the suspense and thrill of the story in a uniquely visual storytelling experience. The first protagonist, Johnny Truant, finds the tattered, unorganized manuscript of his deceased neighbor, Zampanò. The manuscript's story-within-a-story details the experiences of a family moving into a strange house with a never-ending hallway. Inside lies secrets, obsession, and a descent into the darkness that you would not expect.
Monty suggests this story which has suspense in droves and enjoys a very popular style of horror writing for novels, as well as TV series. Taking place in a hotel-turned-retirement home, the employees are noticing their tenants are dying in heaps. You follow a paranormal investigator given the opportunity to investigate one of the most haunted places in LA. It’s not terribly difficult to read, grammatically speaking, and the story moves enough to give the reader something to hold onto without rushing through the story.
