North Carolina Textbook Adoptions

As a result of recent curriculum changes fueled by North Carolina's adoption of the Common Core Standards, new textbooks are being adopted every year. The following links will help you stay abreast of these changes:

Textbooks in the CMC

Gramley Library maintains an up-to-date collection of K-12 textbooks adopted by the state of North Carolina across a variety of subject.  Textbooks are organized by subject and are shelved within the CMC. The following are just a few of the textbook series offered:

  • Reading: Scott Foresman Reading, Holt's Elements of Literature, Prentice Hall Literature
  • Math: Harcourt Math, MacMillan/McGraw Hill Math, SRA Math, Houghton-Mifflin Math Central, Prentice Hall Mathematics, Scott Foresman Math
  • Social Studies: Harcourt Horizons, World Explorer
  • Science: Harcourt Science, Science Interactions
  • Health: Totally Awesome Health, Your Health
  • Arts: Spotlight on Music, Adventures in Art

The previous list is just a sampling of the textbooks available. The CMC also includes past and present examples of assorted textbooks in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Advanced Math, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, Geometry, Trigonometry, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Human Anatomy, Civics, History, World Civilizations and other high school subjects. The CMC also recently acquired all of the newly-adopted NC textbooks for 2013 in the career and technical education category.
